Abstract

Atopic dermatitis is a highly frequent disease in the pediatric population, with
an estimated prevalence of approximately 20%. Parents are often confused
and they may compulsively consult nutritionists, pharmacists, immunologists,
or homeopaths in search of new treatments. Given the fundamental importance
of therapeutic education in achieving effective clinical outcomes,
this paper outlines the essential information that should be communicated to
parents regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of the disease.
