Editorial Policies

Peer Review

The Journal of Applied Cosmetology uses a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers. Reviewers provide comments and recommendations, while the final decision on publication is made by the Editor.

Editors and Editorial Board members may submit manuscripts to the journal. In such cases, the manuscript is handled by independent editorial staff or another member of the Editorial Board, and the submitting Editor or Board member has no involvement in the peer-review or publication decision.

Authorship

All authors must have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, the acquisition, analysis or interpretation of data, or the drafting or critical revision of the manuscript. All authors must approve the final version and accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.

All individuals who meet the authorship criteria should be listed as authors. Contributions that do not qualify for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

All authors must approve the submission of the manuscript.

Acknowledgements and Third-Party Assistance

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged.

Any editorial, writing, or other substantial assistance provided by a third party must be disclosed, including the nature of the assistance and any relevant funding or commercial relationship. Authors remain responsible for the content of their manuscript.

Funding and Conflicts of Interest

All sources of funding must be disclosed in the manuscript.

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial relationships that could influence, or could reasonably be perceived to influence, the research or its interpretation. A statement must be provided even when the authors have no conflicts of interest to declare.

Research Ethics and Patient Consent

Research involving human participants must comply with recognized ethical standards, including the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki where applicable.

Manuscripts reporting research involving human participants or animals must state whether approval was obtained from the appropriate Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board, or whether such approval was waived or was not required.

Where applicable, authors must also state whether informed consent was obtained from participants. For case reports and other publications containing identifiable patient information or images, appropriate consent for publication must be obtained.

Research involving animals must comply with applicable ethical and welfare standards.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials should be registered in a recognized public clinical trial registry in accordance with established international standards. Where applicable, the registry name and registration number should be provided in the manuscript.

Reporting Guidelines

Authors are encouraged to follow the appropriate reporting guidelines for the study design reported in their manuscript, such as CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, or other relevant guidelines.

Author Declarations

All manuscripts must be accompanied by the JAC Author Declaration Form. The completed form must be submitted together with the manuscript. Manuscripts submitted without the required declaration may be returned to the authors before editorial consideration.
