Abstract

Striae distensae (SD) are dermal scars associated with stretching of the dermis. The goal of treatment is to reduce redness, swelling and irritation in early stage, and to improve hydration, increase elastic fiber and collagen production, and reduce inflammation in ageing lesion. Several therapeutic options have been used until now; among these, laser therapy is the most promising one. We herein present a review of the different laser treatment options, focusing on their mechanisms of action and outcomes.
