Monofilament fibers based on Polylactide (PLA) and PLA filled with various chitin nanofibrils (CN) were processed by using a twin-screw extruder. Orientation of composite fibers was carried out. The phase morphology of PLA-chitin composites was observed by scanning electronic microscopy. Rheological and thermal properties of composites were studied. The influence of the CN types on the mechanical properties of oriented and non-oriented fibers was studied. The type of CN, which are most promising for obtaining a highly oriented fiber, was installed.
