Publication Fees
The Journal of Mediterranean, European and African Sciences (JMEAS) is committed to transparency and fairness in its publication model.
1. Article Processing Charges (APCs)
At the time of submission and peer review, no fees are charged to authors.
Article Processing Charges (APCs), where applicable, are requested only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.
The payment of APCs does not influence editorial decisions. Acceptance or rejection of manuscripts is based solely on scientific quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with ethical standards.
2. Transparency of Fees
Any applicable publication fees are:
-
clearly communicated to authors before final acceptance;
-
publicly disclosed on the journal website;
-
applied in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner.
There are no hidden charges associated with submission, peer review, or editorial evaluation.
3. Waivers and Reductions
JMEAS may consider fee waivers or reductions on a case-by-case basis, particularly for:
-
authors from low- and middle-income countries;
-
early-career researchers;
-
invited contributions;
-
Special Issues, where applicable.
Requests for waivers or reductions must be submitted to the Editorial Office prior to publication.
4. Use of Publication Fees
When applicable, publication fees contribute to covering the costs associated with:
-
editorial management and peer-review coordination;
-
copy-editing, language editing, and proofreading;
-
digital publication, archiving, and preservation;
-
Open Access dissemination and long-term accessibility.
5. No Influence on Editorial Independence
The existence or payment of publication fees does not affect:
-
peer-review outcomes;
-
editorial decisions;
-
the integrity or independence of the journal.
6. Fee Updates
Publication fees, if applicable, may be updated periodically.
Any changes will be published on the journal website and will apply only to manuscripts submitted after the effective date of the update.
