Publishing Policies

The Journal of Mediterranean, European and African Sciences (JMEAS) is committed to responsible, transparent, and ethical scholarly publishing. These Publishing Policies define the principles governing the publication process, from submission to dissemination, ensuring academic integrity, accessibility, and long-term preservation of published content.

1. Open Access Publishing

JMEAS is an Open Access journal. All articles are made freely and permanently available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication, without subscription or access fees.

The journal supports the global dissemination of knowledge and the principles of open science, enabling unrestricted access to scholarly research for researchers, professionals, policymakers, and the general public.

2. Editorial Responsibility

All manuscripts submitted to JMEAS are evaluated on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, relevance, and methodological rigor.

Editorial decisions are independent and are not influenced by commercial, institutional, or personal interests. Acceptance or rejection of manuscripts is determined solely through the editorial and peer-review process.

3. Peer Review and Quality Assurance

JMEAS employs a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research.

Peer review is conducted in accordance with internationally recognized standards and ethical guidelines. The identities of reviewers are treated as confidential, and all manuscripts are reviewed fairly and objectively.

4. Publication Ethics and Misconduct

The journal adheres to the principles and best practices promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

JMEAS does not tolerate:

  • plagiarism;

  • data fabrication or falsification;

  • duplicate or redundant publication;

  • unethical research practices.

Allegations of misconduct are investigated thoroughly and may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other appropriate actions.

5. Authorship and Accountability

Authorship must accurately reflect individual contributions to the research.
All authors are required to approve the final version of the manuscript and to take responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Changes to authorship after submission require editorial approval and written consent from all authors.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Authors publishing in JMEAS retain copyright of their work.

Published articles are distributed under a Creative Commons license, as specified in the journal’s License Terms. Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to publish, disseminate, archive, and preserve their work.

7. Corrections, Retractions, and Updates

JMEAS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

When necessary, the journal may publish:

  • corrections;

  • retractions;

  • expressions of concern.

All such notices are clearly identified and permanently linked to the original publication.

8. Archiving and Preservation

The journal ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of published content through reliable digital archiving practices.

Archived articles remain accessible under the journal’s Open Access policy, ensuring continuity of access over time.

9. Transparency and Communication

All publishing policies, editorial procedures, and ethical standards are publicly available on the journal website.

The journal communicates clearly with authors, reviewers, and readers throughout the publication process and strives to ensure transparency and accountability in all publishing activities.
